The old days: when I had to replace a failed smart phone /PDA, or when the one I had failed (being immersed in water proved unfortunate), it took a full day to re-load, re-synch, re-install, re, re, re. Today I received a new Android phone and to move all of my applications, web, email, contacts, documents etc. took about half an hour. Most of the half hour I simply watched as the new device uploaded and applied all my stuff.
